The Current Era
2026 figures after Round 18, the United States Grand Prix.
Ferrari are second in the 2026 constructors' championship on 474 points, 133 behind Mercedes. The team has two wins: Lewis Hamilton at Barcelona-Catalunya and Charles Leclerc at Silverstone. Hamilton's second year in red has been his most competitive — third in the drivers' standings on 241 points, eight clear of Leclerc, with six podiums each. Leclerc was second in Singapore and again in Austin, where Hamilton was fourth; Hamilton was also second in the Singapore sprint. The car has been a match for the Mercedes on its better weekends but has not sustained it across a season.
History
Origins, eras and the people who shaped them.
Scuderia Ferrari was founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929 as a racing division for Alfa Romeo, and became a constructor in its own right after the Second World War. It is the only team to have contested every season of the Formula One World Championship since 1950, and it holds the records for constructors' titles, drivers' titles, race wins and podiums.
The team's history runs in long waves. Ascari's back-to-back titles in 1952 and 1953; the Lauda and Scheckter years of the mid-to-late 1970s; then, after two decades without a drivers' championship, the Michael Schumacher era — five consecutive titles from 2000 to 2004, and six constructors' championships in seven years, built by Jean Todt, Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne.
Since Kimi Raikkonen's 2007 title Ferrari have not won a drivers' championship, the longest drought in the team's history. The signing of Lewis Hamilton for 2025 was the most significant driver move the sport had seen in a generation.
