The Current Era
2026 figures after Round 18, the United States Grand Prix.
Cadillac are the eleventh team on the 2026 grid and the sport's first new entry since Haas in 2016. The team is yet to score. Its driver pairing is deliberately experienced rather than promising — Sergio Perez, a six-time Grand Prix winner, and Valtteri Bottas, a ten-time winner and twice championship runner-up — on the reasoning that a new operation needs reliable feedback more than it needs raw speed.
History
Origins, eras and the people who shaped them.
General Motors' entry took years to secure. An application fronted by Andretti Global was rejected by Formula One's commercial rights holder in early 2024 despite passing the governing body's technical assessment. The project was restructured with General Motors in the leading role and approved for 2026.
The team runs from two sites: a base at Silverstone, where most of the racing operation sits, and a facility at Fishers in Indiana. It uses customer Ferrari power units for its opening seasons, with General Motors developing its own unit to follow.
Cadillac is the first American manufacturer to enter Formula One as a works constructor. Haas, the only other current American entry, is a privateer that buys most of its car from Ferrari.
