Xavi Hernández was the metronome of the Barcelona and Spain sides that won six major trophies between 2008 and 2012. He completed more passes than any player in the history of the Champions League and set records for pass volume and accuracy that reshaped how the central midfield role is understood.
He played 767 matches for Barcelona, more than any other player until Lionel Messi passed him. He later managed the club between 2021 and 2024, winning La Liga in 2023.
