Overview

The 1919 Black Sox scandal, in which eight players conspired to throw the World Series, led to the creation of the commissioner's office.

The Chicago White Sox play in the Major League Baseball and are based in Chicago, Illinois, at Rate Field. Founded in 1901, the club competes in the American League, in the AL Central division.

The club has won three World Series won: 1906, 1917 and 2005.
