Overview
Riyad Mahrez was the outstanding player in Leicester City's 5,000–1 Premier League title win in 2016 and was named PFA Player of the Year, the first African to win it. He signed for Manchester City for a club-record fee two years later.
He captained Algeria to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring a stoppage-time free kick in the semi-final against Nigeria. He won four more league titles and the treble at City before joining Al-Ahli.
