José Luis Chilavert scored 67 goals in his career — more than any other goalkeeper — taking free kicks and penalties for club and country. He is the only goalkeeper to have scored a hat-trick in a professional match, for Vélez Sarsfield in 1999.
He was named the world's best goalkeeper three times and won the Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup with Vélez in 1994.
