Overview

Abedi Ayew, known as Abedi Pele, was named African Footballer of the Year three years running and was the creative centre of the Marseille side that won the first Champions League in 1993 — the first African player to win the competition.

He won the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana at seventeen. His sons André and Jordan Ayew have both played for Ghana at World Cups.
