Overview
Rüştü Reçber was named in the team of the tournament at the 2002 World Cup, where Turkey finished third — their best result, and the country's first appearance since 1954.
He was Turkey's most-capped player for many years and played for both Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş, an unusual move across the Istanbul divide.
