Overview
Luís Figo was the first of the Real Madrid Galácticos, signed from Barcelona in 2000 for a then world-record fee in a transfer that made him permanently hated at the Camp Nou — a pig's head was thrown at him from the stand when he returned in 2002.
A right winger with exceptional dribbling and crossing, he won the Ballon d'Or in 2000 and the Champions League in 2002, and captained Portugal's golden generation to the Euro 2004 final on home soil.
