Overview
Jan Ceulemans captained Belgium to fourth place at the 1986 World Cup, their best finish until 2018, beating the Soviet Union 4–3 in a celebrated round-of-16 tie. He was Belgium's most-capped player for two decades.
He turned down a move to AC Milan in 1981 on his mother's advice and spent fourteen years at Club Brugge, winning three Belgian Golden Shoes.
