Overview

El Hadji Diouf was twice named African Footballer of the Year and was central to Senegal's run to the 2002 World Cup quarter-finals in their first appearance, including the opening-match win over holders France.

His two seasons at Liverpool were unsuccessful and his career was punctuated by disciplinary incidents. He was more effective at Bolton, where he spent four seasons.
